Lost Ring

It took months to find the right engagement ring - when I saw it I rushed home and grabbed Ian out of the shower so he could buy it for me. It was an antique solitaire in a platinum and gold  art deco setting.Unique.  Note the past tense - I've lost it. When we were first engaged I almost  lost it while gardening but found it again at the bottom of a bag of compost. After that scare I've always taken great care to take it off while gardening, painting etc so when it dropped off my finger at work (my fingers shrinking in the cold) I resolved to leave it at home. Not that that helped - I took my rings off to do the washing up and put them back on again afterwards but when I went to bed I only had my wedding ring on. During those few hours I'd unpacked the Ocado delivery - so far I  haven't heard back from them ( I thought it might have dropped into a crate while I was helping unload) I've spent the afternoon on my hands and knees looking round the house but no sign.

Look how happy I was then !

Oh what a shame! I know how you feel. I lost a ring my Mum had given me for my 21st and was at my wits end. In the end I found it in the dustbin in the middle of a pile of papers that I had cleared out from the kitchen. Do hope you find it soon. xx

My heart really feels for you. Sick as a parrot is the phrase that comes to mind. Let's hope it comes to light very soon.

Oh dear....it may turn up. I lost my engagement ring too, put it at the back of the sink (we had only been married a couple of months
Here is a feel good story...I lost my gold watch, my 40th b-day present from hubby, at the thrift shop (here we have huge thrifts like aircraft hangers) I was frightened to tell R. A couple of weeks later I was at the same thrift and asked the checkout girl the time....she said 'have you lost your watch' turns out someone ...do not know if it was staff or customer...found a watch around ( on the floor, I think) and turned it in. I just had to go to the back and give a description of it.
Oh that was my lucky day
I have a feeling your ring will tip up somewhere.

Where was it when you were washing up? Is there any cunning nook or cranny it could have got into?

Not quite in the same league as your ring, my favourite small scissors once disappeared in the kitchen, flicked off the table by one of the cats. We looked everywhere, including under the fridge. Not found. Mysteriously, discovered under same fridge months later - there must have been a tiny area still covered by the fridge when we moved it. Is there any chance at all of something like that?

It was found again in the bottom drawer of the freezer among the breadcrumbs - it must have come off while putting away the Ocado order. Unfortunately it now is lost for good, somewhere on Catfield Fen.
